Who Is FinancialGuruji?
I started this site because I kept seeing the same thing happen around me.
Colleagues buying insurance policies they didn’t understand. Friends parking everything in FDs while inflation quietly ate the returns. Family members missing tax deductions worth lakhs — every single year — simply because nobody explained them clearly.
The information was always out there. But most of it was either too technical, too salesy, or written for someone already familiar with finance. Not for a 28-year-old salaried employee in Hyderabad trying to figure out whether to choose new tax regime or old.
FinancialGuruji.in exists to fix that gap.
Who Am I?
I’m Satish Kattamuri — a personal finance writer and researcher from Andhra Pradesh, India.
I made every money mistake in my 20s. Wrong insurance products. Zero investments for years. No understanding of how income tax actually worked. I paid for those mistakes — in real money and real stress — before spending the next five years learning everything the hard way.
For the past 5 years, I have been writing about personal finance full-time — covering SIP investing, mutual funds, income tax saving, EPF withdrawal, CIBIL score, government schemes, and RBI rule changes. All researched from personal experience and primary government sources, not from a bank or financial institution.
I am not a SEBI-registered investment advisor. I do not manage portfolios. I do not sell insurance or financial products. I have no institutional affiliation and no products to push.
What I have is five years of focused research into how money works in India — and a strong belief that most people are smarter than the financial industry gives them credit for. They just need things explained clearly, honestly, and without jargon.
That is what I try to do here.
What Makes This Site Different
Every article on FinancialGuruji.in starts with a real problem — the kind I have seen people around me actually struggle with. Then it gives a specific, researched answer. No filler. No vague “it depends” without explanation.
Every article is cross-referenced with primary government sources before publishing — RBI guidelines, SEBI circulars, Income Tax notifications, EPFO circulars, India Post, and National Savings Institute. When rules change, articles are updated.
Topics covered:
Income Tax & Tax Saving — New vs old tax regime, HRA claims, home loan deductions, 80C investments. Practical guides you can act on before March 31.
Mutual Funds & SIP — How SIP works, how compounding actually builds wealth, SWP for retirement income, ELSS for tax saving. No fund house bias.
Insurance — Why term insurance is the only life insurance most people need. How to read a policy document. What your health insurance covers and what it quietly excludes.
Government Schemes — PPF, SSY, SCSS, POMIS, EPF, NPS. The schemes most people underuse because nobody explained the rules in plain language.
Financial Calculators — Free tools for SIP returns, EMI, FD maturity, HRA, income tax — so you can run the numbers yourself before making any decision.
A Note on Our Content
Everything on FinancialGuruji.in is written for general financial education and awareness. Nothing published here is personalised investment, tax, or insurance advice.
All content is based on publicly available data from official government sources — Income Tax Department, SEBI, RBI, EPFO, India Post, and National Savings Institute. Tax rates, rules, and scheme details change periodically — always verify current figures from official government sources before making financial decisions.
Before making any significant financial decision, please consult a certified financial planner or tax advisor who understands your complete financial situation.
